A MECH-FIGHTING TTRPG SET IN THE STARS

What is Halcyon?
War. Hubris. A galaxy full of nuclear powered war machines in a time of confusion and far-future technology.
In Halcyon, you get to build a mech from a list of 30+ weapons designed for team strategizing and simple number crunching that only uses d4s and 20s. Underneath that metal superweapon is your pilot; a human being subjected to the horrors of this universe through intense roleplaying mechanics that make it a little harder to stay sane.
"We're all Prometheus -- those mechs are our fire."
- Hieronymus Kell, Head of the New Earth Coalition
Fully Customizable Combat Frames
Halcyon has 5 frame sizes and dozens of unique weapons, force multipliers, upgrades, and pilot talents. You can build anything you want to be; sniper, duelist, artillery platform, hacker, or anything in between. The system is built to support all kinds of builds and promotes synergy with your team. Additionally, the game comes with 30+ printable weapon cards (all with custom art), which make it easy to swap weapons on the fly.
ENGAGING CHARACTER CREATION
The Pilot is just as important as their frame. Our character builder is wide-open, letting the player set stats and even invent their own specializations. The one non-negotiable is Bleed. There are consequences to what you do - will you make it out or drown in your own mind?
EMPHASIS ON STORYTELLING
While certainly being a combat heavy game, Halcyon puts an emphasis on the roleplaying aspect of TTRPGs. Between the largely player-driven character creation and moral ambiguity of the universe, there are hundreds of possibilities for GMs to explore with their players. The system invites a collaboration that challenges the mindset of those who see TTRPGs as a thing to "win." Storytelling is a collaborative effort and a core aspect of Halcyon as a game.

"Will we stand idly by while they threaten to extinguish what little freedom we have entirely?"
- Albert Nazari, Leader of the Arbiters
The universe of Halcyon is full of sparks; little pinpricks of hope in the dark blanket of pride and selfishness that technological advancement invites. Whether you pilot your mech to be one of those sparks or to be entirely selfish is up to you. Either way, the shattered fragments of the previous order will not be quiet for long. Nothing is stable. Not the government, not the fabric of our universe, not even you. The inevitable will catch up no matter who you are. Will you be ready to meet it?
