Dorian has the Flight vein because he's always so scared of everything. He's the type of person to bolt as soon as he can, but he was too afraid to say no to run this time. Dorian is terrified to be doing what he's doing. He's scared of everything. He just wants his mommy.

It turns out he, like, really enjoys piloting. A natural affinity for it, even. It reminds him of one of his previous jobs as a space truck driver for Bishop. He's got a real need for speed. While anger normally hinders one's ability to make rational judgements, for Jack, when he's angry he feels more "locked in" like his senses are sharpened, especially when he believes that he's right.

She'd never admit it, but Persy's biggest flaw is her pride. Not the same kind of pride as Kell - she's not full of herself. She really does think she can stop the war, though. Like she's judge, jury, executioner, perfect righteous fury, the messenger of Kell's doom. It's like main character syndrome if it were fueled by sheer anger and spite. That kind of mentality is gonna get someone killed.

Kell represents several of the most dangerous qualities of real dictators. He's smart, charismatic, ambitious, and an extremely efficient problem-solver. If the problems he's solving happen to be people... Well, progress isn't free. He believes he can kickstart humanity's progress into the galaxy, and so far he doesn't have much evidence to the contrary. Not very pleasant to be around if you aren't rich and stupid.
